  1. Well, I'm not sure where the sweet comes in. Perhaps they are sharing memories of sweeter times! The first guy seems to be practicing the outstretched-arms maneuver, which is working more or less, but also seems to have caused a bunch of random leg maneuvers, too.

My first thought was the Borg, before they came up with a much better brain meld system wherein they didn't all have to be attached to each other. In any case, it's two more weird and wonderfully curious illustrations from the wild mind of Rod, the Pen Mover!
    :D

  4. Why did you erase the french horn you were starting to draw? It ties in so well with the weirdness. :)

    1. Actually Ted, That was some stuff on the other side of the paper that got scanned in. Although I take my drawings through Photoshop to crop..I decided not to clean that out. Sometimes I eliminate marks but it depends on my mood...I obviously felt liberated yesterday by leaving them!

  5. I have just entered a bizzarro world. I think high school kids feel like that is what their education is like.

    1. Now that you mentioned education...I'm assuming the top drawing with the Androids, It made me think of when teachers (in UK) used to tell us all when we were walking somewhere out of school to get into a 'Crocodile'! (Queue...Brit. Informal.)...it baffled me then as it does now I suppose. I can only think that it was lucky we didn't live in Africa...near a river.

    2. That's a funny term indeed. I never heard of it before.

But--in answer to your question on my blog--the rust process. All I did was soak the paper for awhile to make it wet all the way through, then take steel wool, and kindof spread it out over the paper, then spray a mixture of vinegar and water on it all (speeds up the rusting), put another layer of paper, more steel wool, more spraying, kindof like a lasagna, and then put a weight on top of it all to keep the steel wool in contact with the paper, and then wait. It was pretty fast--probably less than an hour, and it appears to be permanent. None of it washed out of the paper when I was rinsing it in the sink (to get rid of the vinegar....).

  6. It's a mad mad mad world of Rod :)

I have been busy again for a longer period, so I am checking the products of your crazy-genius brain now. Nice work, but wait! On 26th of May, Gerard exploded!?! No! I want him back!

I thought, this weeks' IF topic would bring Walter and his friend back with a usual spartan Dialogue, like: "Want Dessert" "You want even more Desert?"

    Nice work!

  7. This looks like a procession of escaped lobotomy patients. Or is it the Planet of the Clones? And who is creating who? They seem to be happy and polite, but for how long?
Lots of Bye Bye's from the wondering witch!

ps You were not dreaming again?

  8. My mind wandered off to the germination process for the next in the series of head-connected types... A squelch-sproing sort of sound rang out in my head. Good thing it's afternoon, as I'm sure this will colour my thoughts for the rest of the day.

  9. I can definitely see the resemblance to lining up in school in the first one. I think this is what teachers would like to happen...total obedience! (not sure they get it though!! After much consideration I think the bottom one must be a self portrait!!!! Very concerned I have missed Gerard's demise...he is a cult hero!!

  10. I think these are the visuals from an anti-sugar campaign warning what intake of sugar does to our brains, right?
